20 year old woman found dead in Parnell Park homeless camp

Whittier- A 20-year-old woman was found dead this morning inside the homeless encampment at Parnell Park at Mulberry Dr and Scott Av in East Whittier.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene just before 6 am by paramedics that were dispatched to a person in cardiac arrest at the park at 5:34 a.m.

A Whittier Police Department official states the death is not believed to have been caused by foul play and is still under investigation. 

Several unconfirmed sources report that the girl died from an overdose. The sources told La Mirada News that meth, heroin and fentanyl use are common inside the encampment.
