Tues. Sept. 26, 2023.
The La Mirada City Council
will consider a new graffiti abatement ordinance shortening the amount of time residents and businesses have to fix damage during tonight's council meeting.
The proposed ordinance would require private property owners or persons responsible for maintaining a property to act within 72 hours after the city delivers or gives a verbal notification to remove the damage.
The proposal will also require that any paint used to cover the damage with a color and shade similar to the surface where the graffiti was placed.
If passed into law, the new ordinance will replace the current requirement giving property owners seven days to repair the artwork of vandals.
Tonight's meeting begins at 6:30 p. m. in the city council chambers inside City Hall at 13700 La Mirada Blvd.
